To the Scallywags’ great disappointment, Peter Pan was nowhere to be seen in the capital of the Nether Nether land.

The Suitcasers had heard of a lady who went by the name of Anne. We walked to her place to pop in for a cuppa but she wasn’t home. I’d say a fair few others would have heard about it as well because there was a massive line!

Feeling academic and cruising into the Van Gogh museum, there wasn’t nearly as much “trippy stuff” as I had imagined. There were old oil paintings with fat flying babies, weaponry and statues. With our schoolboy humour and lack of energy toward art and history, not much time was spent in Van Gogh’s second museum.

Yes, his second museum. Leaving Van Gogh’s second museum, we started walking towards Vondelpark. In no less than five minutes of walking did the Scallywags spot a big building with a massive line that said “Van Gogh Museum”. We both looked at each other and laughed after a million thoughts went through our heads. Such thoughts beginning with why there wasn’t much “trippy stuff” in the museum and why the museum we went to didn’t have anything that said Van Gogh on it. OR possibly even better yet, why the hell there were no artworks done by Van Gogh at the Rijks Museum (Van Gogh’s second museum), surely must have rang bells!

An attempt to watch the third game of the State of Origin only hours before our flight was interesting. The pre game show went for too long so we only ended up watching the first 6 minutes. Rushing to the airport and we can’t see our flight on the board. Oh god. Had I booked the wrong flight? What day is it? The possibilities! With a stroke of luck, I had misread the itinerary and the flight wasn’t scheduled to leave until an hour and a half later later than we had thought.

Dordling around next to the canals of the red light district we saw the brutality of the world, as visually explained with the black and white picture of two birds. Just about anything in this city is legal, evidently, inclusive of murder.

It’s the Wizard of Aus’ second time to that joint (no pun intended) and the picturesque nature of the city during the day, is definitely enough to make any traveller to return.
