I still can’t get rid of this damn travel bug. It slowly kills me every time I’m stuck in Sydney and the pain is almost unbearable. As I am yet to discover a cure, the only way to relinquish the pain is to give it what it wants and plan more travel.
Two weeks after arriving home from South America, I have booked and paid for flights to indulge in a European summer. The main purpose of this trip is so I can see places I wanted to see but missed out on when I was half of the Backpacking Battlers. The plan of attack is Sweden, Denmark, Norway, UK and Morocco, with potentially a visit up to Iceland. I’m heading over with my high school English mate Mark to experience this part of the world.
One of the big questions others ask of me and I ask of myself is how can I afford to do all of this? I am lucky enough to still be living at home whilst I am studying which means my expenses are lower than if I had to fend for myself. During the holiday period I work anywhere between four to six shifts a week and I rarely go out for beers unless it’s for a special occasion. I save every dollar and although I may seem a pikey at times, it doesn’t bother me as the money I’m not spending on useless perishable crap, I’m investing in the world of travel, no pun intended.
Can’t wait to see more of this world and continue to be wanderlust
