Not a whole lot going for it. I feel bad for the place actually. And the people. They’re stuck way up here in the freezing cold with nothing exciting to do. Wonder if any of them know what the world is like beyond the Buchanan bus station. The majority, probably not. Nice buncha folk though.
Got here the other day off a nine hour bus trip from Victoria station in London. Stayed at the Euro Hostel on the corner of Glasgow Bridge. Not much chop. A whole six people were staying there that I could count. Welcome to the offseason.
It’s the first night since leaving Sydney just over five months ago that this Battler spent lonesome. Couldn’t agree more with Otis Redding “and this loneliness won’t leave me alone”. And as I lay in bed, I started thinking about the days antics. In particular the Scottish. I think they have eye fetish’s. Wouldn’t stop saying eye after every sentence. Started wearing my sunnies around the place to not give any of them any ideas as to how easy I was. Just like how women aren’t meant to walk around with much skin showing in Turkey.
Went and had a squigereedidge at the local park, Glasgow Green which looked pretty in the snow. First time one of the Battlers has seen snow on this adventure.
I reckon the ONLY good thing about Scotland so far is the haggis. I tried some yesterday and had a mouthgasm. Unbelievable. Such a simple meal (as to have a guess) tasted so delicious. Going to go back for seconds at some point before I leave.
I know this post has been as boring as watching a librarian put away returned books, but so far so is Scotland. I guess the two go hand in hand.
Moving up to Inverness next to try and spot me a Lochness monster. Fingers crossed the temperature north isn’t too far south of zero
