“No, it’s not like the Manly Ferry” as one of us quickly found out. It’s a massive ship that transports all the peoples and they cars/belongings to other Greek islands. The other forgot from the last time he was in Greece, that you dump your bags near the cars. So when we pulled up at Ios, the stop before ours, one of the Idiots went downstairs to stand by the bags with the other dads.

As a destination to transfer back from Greece to Italy, it was only a short stay in Santorini. An afternoon local bus trip to Oia to see the town on the hill. Plenty of photo taking and soaking in the incredible vistas.

Dinner in Fira where the Idiots were spending the night in Uma Ray Suites. Non dinner reservations meant a 45minute wait in line. It’s different in these parts. To save us from boredom of waiting, the maitre d gave each of us a glass of white wine on the house. We timed it perfectly, as those with bookings stood taking in the sunset and we sat eating eggplant dip with pita bread, moussaka and greek salad.

Next stop Venice!
