Singapore

Singapore? More like SingADORE! A 3am get up because a 6:40am flight was ill thought out. A 12 hour transit in Singapore Airport meant a dozen hours of waiting #GeneralMaths.

I decided to make the most of my half day in Singadore by having a geez around the place. Last time I was here was years ago and it was known to me as SingaBORE. It did nothing for me but being not much more mature than when I was 15 and came here, I thought I’d give her another crack.

Step outside in my jumper, jeans and joggers, rocking that classic 1990’s dad get up. The sweat started pouring from me in the 30 degree heat and 1000% humidity.

Caught the underground from Chengi International Airport to ‘Gardens By The Bay’ where there was, by chance, the Singapore Youth Festival. The Gardens is part of a newish development along with the Marina Bay Sands and heaps of other touristy stuff.

I had a fair bit of time to kill so I just took photos of a bunch of stuff and tried to get involved with all the activities the local Singadoreans were putting on.

This is the best way I’ve ever spent time in transit and it got my wanderlust juices flowing. Remembering why I love flagging it from Sydney and immersing myself among other cultures. I’m obsessed!

  1. I had that same 12hr transit almost 2 weeks ago but it was midnight until midday so couldn’t do the day tour – looks awesome!
